BRT driver speaks on missing lady passenger: I only obeyed the orders given to me.

The 47 year- old driver, Nice Andrew, who drove the BRT bus conveying 22-year-old passenger, Oluwabamise Ayanwole, has given explanation of what happened.

Andrew who was arrested by the DSS told TVC in an interview that his bus was hijacked by three gun men and was only obeying the orders given to him by those men.

He said, “I picked her from Chevron and I picked the other three guys at Agungi.

“When those guys showed me their weapons, I couldn’t be myself anymore. Fear took over me and Ï only followed orders from the man with the gun who sat close to me.

“Whatever the gunmen told me, that is what I did. When I followed that Carter bridge, after the overhead bridge, they ordered me to stop there.

“I followed the Carter Bridge, and around the overhead bridge, they ordered me to stop there. And when they ordered me to stop, I was asked to open the door, her assailants came down and started dragging her down from the bus.

“When I saw that she was crying for help, actually I was helpless and I had thought she was still in the bus holding on to one of the irons that could help keep her in the bus. In that process and with that thought, I moved on. And that is just the truth.”

Oluwabamise worked as a Fashion Designer at Chevron Estate, Ajah, and spent weekends at Ota, Ogun State, with her sister.

She was returning to Ota from Ajah on Saturday, Feb. 26 when she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi at about 7 p.m. at Chevron Bus-Stop.

Sensing danger as the bus did not pick any other passenger at subsequent bus stops, Oluwabamise engaged a friend using voice notes on her phone, telling the friend her life was in danger.

She was later found dead after few days.
