How Chief of Army Staff, other top military officers died in plane crash.
The Nigerian Army on Friday said the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and other top military officers died in a plane crash enroute Kaduna from Abuja.
The Army Director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, in a statement said “ the sad event occurred following an air crash in Kaduna which also claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew.
“The COAS was enroute Kaduna from Abuja on Friday, 21 May, 2021 when the unfortunate incident happened.
“Details of the sad incident and burial arrangements will be communicated soon,” the Army said.
THIS IS NEWS gathered that the plane, Beachcraft 350 aircraft ran into bad weather in Kaduna around the international airport.
The NAF pilot, Alfred Olufade was unable to pilot the plane through the weather.
The 54-year old chief of Army staff and his team were on their way to an official assignment in Kaduna when the incident happened.
